Random Questions; Random Days... Monday, February 23
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." ~Pablo Picasso. Please comment.

Children are free, open-minded little people who make the sky the limit in terms of imagination and creativity. As they grow older and encounter people with narrow-minded ideas and negative responses to their ideas, they often begin to lose that innocence and freedom with which they approach the world. Self-doubt, self-consciousness, and fear of nonconformity begin to permeate their perceptions. Artistic freedom often gets lost in this quagmire

Last week I let YOU pick a letter to start your answers with.....this week I will pick the letters. For the following statements, fill in the blank with a word (or words) that begins with the letter I give you. Let's have some fun!!

1. If I could weigh less, I'd be so happy!
2. Maybe one day I will try my hand at catering.
3. Before I started blogging, I used to spend less time at the computer.
4. Looks like not much sure makes me scared!
5. If I could fly, I would fly to Any place I wanted to go.
6. If more people were nice to each other, the world would be a better place.
7. I thought this meme was fun this week. (any letter will do for this one.)

Hooray for mid-winter break! Mine is today and Monday. Otto, I tried leaving this on your "comments" board, but couldn't. "Gigli" (considered to be the WORST film of 2003) is pronounced w/a very soft "g", like the French would say. The 2nd "g" is silent: "Gee-lee"

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." ~ Albert Einstein Please comment.

Knowledge is finite. It may seem huge, but still, it is finite. It consists of this huge pool of pre-existing thoughts and ideas. It involves digesting the concepts of other people. Imagination is infinite. It gives us the ability to take these pre-existing ideas and formulate new ones. It gives us the ability to question, and seek new truths. I bet Einstein thought of imagination in terms of dimension.

Random Questions; Random Days... Monday, February 16
Happy President's Day! Please comment on this holiday.

Designed to celebrate the b-days of Washington and Lincoln, I think it's good to remember two men who played such an important part in the history of our nation. I also agree that we should respect the "office" because we really do have the best system going on. Respecting the office and the man holding it are not necessarily one and the same. Deceiving the public to execute a personal agenda at the cost of trillions of dollars and thousands of lives is never ok.

I've got a new idea this week.......First of all, pick a letter, any letter.................Got one? Ok. For the following questions, all your answers must begin with the letter you just thought of. (Honor system here, my friends!) Have fun with it! (Oh, I am in the process of updating my list so if you do not see your link yet, please know it will be there asap!) Thanks for your participation!! Remember; All your answers must begin with the letter you just chose! =) My letter is "N"

1. Name two types of food that you could care less if you ever ate again. Neapolitan ice cream and Northern white beans.
2. Name one animal. Narwal (sp?)
3. List three words to describe yourself. Nice, Nutty, Nonconventional
4. Name two things you might find at a zoo. Night owl and Nut hatch
5. Name three things you might find living in the water. Newt, New England clams and uh Naked stuff.

PS next time I'm cheating and picking a letter after I read the questions!

We actually had a full week of school with no snow days! I didn't work Monday, though. It wasn't much of a day off, since I was off to take Geoff to the doctor and drive him back to school. He still has another month "non-weight bearing" then he can start putting some weight on it while still using crutches. The good news is that he can drive and pedal piano. He also has a state-issued handicap permit for his car. That makes it much easier for him to get around on campus.

Lisa seems to be enjoying her new status as a driver. The big difference between Geoff and Lisa in this situation is that all of Geoff's friends were older and were driving before he was. Lisa is the first of her bunch to drive, so occasionally has riders with her, where Geoff didn't. We put limits on that, though, and she understands. She just got accepted into the National Honor Society. With her 4.0 GPA and her church service I told her I wasn't surprised! I'm very proud of her.

Play practices both at Catholic and at my school continue to go well. Pit rehearsals for Lisa's play begin this week. Between those two plays, handbells, and church choir, I keep pretty busy. Enough for now. I want to do a little cleaning, since we will be gone tomorrow. We're off to Mt. P for an orchestra concert. At least that gives me cross-stitch time in the car!

I was going to offer multiple choice questions, but I came up with these instead. SO, please finish each sentence below...and enjoy your week! Also, thanks for playing Monday Madness!! =) (If I've not added you to the list yet, please know that I will this week! Thanks for your understanding!)

1. On Sunday afternoon, I like to just... Hang around the house and cross-stitch. IN REALITY . . . .If I'm lucky enough to get to be home, I have at least 4 loads of laundry to do, and if my house is going to get cleaned, that's when it probably will happen.
2. I'm behind someone at a traffic light, the light turns green and they just sit there, I... Toot my horn lightly. I'm trying not to be so impatient in the car, so I'm trying to avoid the commentary that used to go with it.
3. My immediate reaction to someone making a nasty remark to me is... To fire one back!
4. If I had to live in a state/country where it was cold most of the year, I would...Cope. I do, don't I?
5. When the weather outside is hot and humid, I prefer to...stay inside where it air conditioned, or go to the beach.
6. My favorite 'comfy' clothes to wear around the house is...sweat pants and a t-shirt.
7. If given a deadline at work/school to finish a project, I usually...wait til the last possible minute!
8. If someone gave me a pet for my birthday, I would... love him/her. Most people think we have enough already, though, since we already have 5 cats.
9. As far as watching the clock on weekends, I... Do. It's just my nature.
10. I usually wash my car about every...Spring.

Well, the talent show went without a hitch and I got call-back auditions done on Tuesday. With yet another snow day this past week, it was a challenge. I also had honors choir and our last pep band obligation squeezed in there for good measure. Our snow accumulation totals almost 2 feet right now. It looks pretty!
