Hey! Where is everyone?? We've been wondering what everyone is up to. We're in the final stages of emptying out our living rm and dining rm in prep for our project. We have also been desining the space and choosing cabinets. We hope to have a "blank canvas" by the end of today. I can't believe how much "junk" we have! Okay, don't respond to that. The storage space is filling up fast. I'm looking forward to actually getting started. Keep in touch!

Thank you to everyone who offered questions last week. Since I received 14 suggestions, I am posting 7 this week and 7 next week. The following questions are from our participants; names are links to their blogs. Thanks again!1. What book are you currently reading? (from dawn)2. Have you ever experienced the loss of a pet? How did you deal with it? Would you get a new pet, and why? (from peanutbutterfly)3. Is anyone in your family in the armed services? (from teresa)4. If you have or have had a girlfriend/boyfriend, did you tell your parents about her/him without them prying for the information? (from shady88)5. What was your favorite childhood pet and tell me a few things about it. (from beth)6. Have you ever been in love? (from seren)7. What's your favorite activity? (from robyn)
1. I am reading "Journey into Truth" by Fr. Olin J. Murdick, our parish priest when we were little kids. It was a book that "called to me" from my shelf as I was practicing my bass.
2. The first little kitty we had contracted FIP and we had to have her put down. It was very sad, but we were undeterred. We now have 5 kitties and 2 dogs. None of them "replace" Dorie, but we love the way pets complete a home!
3. Yes; S is in the Navy. She's a doc!
4. I was an adult who lived 120 mi. from home. Try that!
5. My fave had to be our Basset Hound, Abby. She had a huge litter of pups, and she was one of the dogs we had for the longest period of time.
6. Yes, and have 24 (almost) yrs. of marriage to prove it!
7. Music, cross stitch, family stuff!

1. . . the hardest time motivating myself to clean house. Usually I have to invite someone over so I am forced to clean or be embarassed! The problem with that, is that I don't do as thorough a job as I should.
2. . . .I'm buying a little travel trailer. Maybe next year. We're going to get our puppies more accostumed to travel first.
3. . . eat more green stuff that is higher in iron, I'm starting to do that now, with this South Beach plan. I actually found out that I like the stalky parts of the broccoli. I still am not crazy about the florets, but everyone else will eat those!
5. I guess my favorite chilhood toy was my bicycle. God knows I was always on it!
6. . . desk in one word:CLUTTERED
7. . . ask more questions about . . hobbies?
8. . . ????

We got back from our UP trek at around 4 a.m. yesterday. We decided to drive straight through and save the extra dough. We picked L up and were on the road by around 7 p.m. L had a great time and so did we. She ran into a couple of Otto's kid's classmates! We drove up to Copper Harbor and saw the sights up that way for a couple of days, then drove back down to Houghton and checked out the sights in that area. We spent time in Calumet, our "almost" state capitol, and Laurium, site of a 13,000 sq. ft.-of-living-space mansion. It was home of one of the copper mining millionaires. We took a self-guided tour through it. It is now a B & B. We also learned A LOT about the copper mining industry and its heyday. We also saw a number of lighthouses and a number of BEAUTIFUL churches. We took lots of pics, of course! G stayed home with the menagerie and had his first week of classes. He decided he is DEFINITELY not a "solitary man." He missed having us to talk "at"! Our critters were all glad to see us; especially the puppies! We had a nice trip, but it's always great to be back home!
